...a month makes. The difference between me now and me 30 days ago...Oh the stress might be catching up with me.
Actually I don't think it's stress as much as every single minute (yes I said minute, apron timer is out for me to blog for exactly 15 minutes) is planned between now and August 7th.
We were SPOILED rotten, absolutely spoiled rotten this past Saturday at our shower. However, my hand does feel like it is going to fall off with all of the Thank-Yous. Don't get me wrong, the Thank-Yous are a must and well deserved. I just like to get things out within a matter of days, not weeks.
Oh yeah, we found out on Monday that our Cupcake Lady went out of business last week, so we are scrambling to find something new because honestly, the cupcakes might be more important than the dress.

Tis the Season...
In a few short hours, the whole gang (hubby + puppies) will be driving north to our hometown for my bridal shower!
I love organizing and planning, but sadly I do not love organizing and planning our wedding. I do not know if "the jig is up", we are already married or what.
My bridesmaids will be wearing a black dress of their choice and all of us will be rocking these:
He will be wearing his uniform. Neither one of us are crazy about the military wedding. In the end, I made it his decision and since he is too lazy (his exact words) to rent a tux, he decided to wear what he already has in his closet.

But to catch everyone up to speed.

Back on the Wedding Bandwagon
We do not fight or argue much about big things. Now do not get me wrong, we have our fair share of bickering and eye rolling, but the tone of our relationship is laughter.
Our upcoming "wedding" in August might be the death of us. So much so that at the dinner table at Christmas, I told his family it was not happening.
We share our opinions on everything. We discuss everything.
When I ask him about invitiations or pretty much anything, his response, "I do not want to talk about it now". When I told him our wedding budget would run around $12,000, he almost fell off his chair. And actually did fall off his chair when I told him they consider this "cheap" these days.
After telling his family and my family that I didn't want a wedding because I do not want to either 1) kill him or 2) divorce him, I become convinced it would not happen.
His mom took the afternoon off of work and asked me to run a few errands. She took me to a bridal boutique to try on dresses and a stationary place to look through invitations. She told me she wanted to help out anyway she could money wise, decoration wise, anything wise.
She said, "I wanted your heart to smile again in regards to your wedding day".
I am beginning to realize he will not have much of an opinion in regards to our wedding and I am ok with it. However, tonight I mentioned no need for a honeymoon and he chimed in that he wanted to go somewhere and he would want to take care of that.
Looks like the show will go on afterall, but it will be a long seven months.

Say No To The Dress
There is a wedding dress buzz in the blog world. Now shopping for my homecoming, turnabout, graduation, and prom dresses put me in tears, no doubt, every single time. I just grew so frustrated trying on a million dresses. People do not make dresses for a size 10 top and a size 2 bottom.
sidenote:: people say I am lucky, I disagree whole heartidly
Since I did not have a wedding, I do not have any pictures in wedding dresses. Well, I guess that is not entirely true, I totally forgot about these pictures until tonight. My mom, Super Jeni, and I headed to Nashville about three weeks ago to start this long journey of finding a dress.
Luckily Jeni snapped some pictures for me. These are just a few I said no to:

Week Eight
Oh yes, another month down. Not another week, but another month. I convinced myself the other day if I make it through the ugly months of January, February, and March time will really start flying, especially during the summer. Tonight I left my back door open and just enjoyed the smell of warmth.

I dream of a southern plantation wedding and above is the historic mansion where it might just come true. It received some buzz because Taylor Swift did a photo shoot on this same swing below.

I do not know about you, but I think I look better minus the make-up, beautiful dress, and overall glowing beauty.
- Read The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. I decided to switch over to a more academic book and boy did it take me awhile to read. I love Gladwell though. I read his previous two books (The Tipping Point and Blink) and he makes me want to become a business/communications professor because his findings fascinate me. However, next month I go back to suspenseful, sometimes trashy fiction where I escape from my reality.
- Cooked three new menu items: Paprika Chicken, Ravioli with Sun Dried Tomatoes, and a Beer Cheddar Cheese dip for a Super Bowl party and also cooked for the boys.
- Ran outside for the first time since October. I made the mistake of taking Dakota who stopped several times for no reason other than to express to me her stubbornness
- Switched back to my original church here and finally involved myself in the congregation. I volunteered to host a few members of a choir traveling here for a weekend stay in March
- Found a painter to give me a pretty good estimate to paint the rest of the living room and other guest room
My parents drove down to visit me yet again. I know I am incredibly spoiled. My dad already washed both cars. We visited Nashville and I found the place where I want to get married
